    Is this your mother?

    By Zura | May 11, 2008

    Do you know this woman?

I can’t seem to find anyone that recognizes her. I’m quite sure she isn’t my mother. My kids say she bears no resemblance to me, whatsoever.

So, whose mother is this? Were any of you raised in this spotless kitchen eating perfectly prepared, beautiful food? Was it your mother that prepared gourmet meals in her expensive dress (probably wearing high heels)?

I am suspect of her. Anyone that happy, and clean, after preparing all that food just isn’t trustworthy!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!

Well… kinda. My mom’s house was ALWAYS immaculate. But my brother and I always owed this to mom being a nurse. We used to joke that we grew up in a sanatized environment. But seriously, I know of a lot of households where the women attempted to attain this high standard. Every spring all the window trappings came down to be cleaned and all the walls were given a sponge bath along with everything else. Dinners were always balanced and on time, you sat down with the family at the dinner table. But things weren’t near as fancy as in the picture. Now grandma, I don’t remember he wearing anything BUT dresses and always an apron in the kitchen. These were just good ol’ fashioned prairie housewives.

There’s only one woman that I’ve seen that even comes close to that image, and it’s Brini Maxwell, but I don’t know if she, er, he is a mom, er, dad. Maybe my grandma, but somehow, I don’t think my granddad would’ve approved of heels on any occasion, let alone to make a roast (assuming the lady in the image is wearing heels).

Is it wrong that I so want that dress she’s wearing, lol?
